All-terrain really is fifty-fifty: as much at home on tarmac as on an unpaved road. Avon AX7 belongs to this category. A chunkier block tread and reinforced construction bite on gravel, mud and rock and resist cuts better, while the tyre keeps usable manners in everyday traffic. It is the choice for SUVs and pickups that meet rough ground more than just now and then, yet still cover their daily kilometres on the road. Compared with a road tyre, expect more noise and a slightly longer wet braking distance.

<p>I have a few mm left till they are done but will change them out because they are getting slippery in rain. When it comes to aquaplaning they are the best I’ve ever driven but sadly they have a tendency of not really gripping some sorts of tarmac, harder and coarser in roundabouts, when wet. This has happened lately and since they have been used for almost three summers I guess it’s age. Still very comfortable and quite silent on Swedish roads</p>
Watch out for roundabouts when it's wet. Nothing like my old Michelin Latitude Cross.
I’ve drive 1000km a week and put these on six weeks ago. They are behaving very well on bad and better roads. Grass and gravel is a pleasure. The only weakness I have found is that they are more prone to aquaplaning than normal road bias tyres. Not that they are dangerous but but you have to lower your speed in heavy rain. They are rather soft so comfort and sound is top notch but they need a little bit more air to stabilise the sidewalls for a more spirited drive. Will buy again
