purchased two avon 225/55R18 98v zx7 on 17/09/2025 with 8mm tread.Drove 769 miles, I have written paper work that the tread was down to 5mm. I dont think this is normal.

Having to replace 2 of these on front of my car due to them cracking and perishing, Avon say it's ok but I'm not so sure and don't want to risk an accident so changing them asap
I run winter and summer wheels and tyres setup so these go into dark storage from 1st November until 1st March so not had a rough life, appx 1500mls a year as I'm retired and do little mileage.
About 6mm left on each tyre and fit for the trash.
Searching the internet shows it's common with this brand so I can't personally recommend them.
Wish I'd bought Hankook or Kumho instead.

I was pleased with these tyres until one needed to be replaced due to a tear in the sidewall. The tyre fitter pointed out to me that all four had developed longitudinal cracks. This was on 3-year-old tyres that had covered less than 20k.

All four tyres developed cracks in between the tread after just three year and less than 10k miles.
Avoid.

All 4 of my Avon ZV7 are advisories on my recent MOT. Plenty of tread, but all are 'perishing' even though the oldest is only 2-3 years (less than 10,000 miles). My local tyre people won't touch Avon tyres for that reason!
