Technical information
Focus: All Terrain
All-terrain really is fifty-fifty: as much at home on tarmac as on an unpaved road. Bf goodrich ALL-TERRAIN T/A KO3 belongs to this category. A chunkier block tread and reinforced construction bite on gravel, mud and rock and resist cuts better, while the tyre keeps usable manners in everyday traffic. It is the choice for SUVs and pickups that meet rough ground more than just now and then, yet still cover their daily kilometres on the road. Compared with a road tyre, expect more noise and a slightly longer wet braking distance.

What owners say

How much you love or hate these tires is highly dependent on the amount of time you spend on vs. off road. On dirt or mud, at least on a Ranger Raptor, they come alive inspiring tremendous confidence on loose surfaces at speed. But that confidence evaporates the moment you return to tarmac. Wet braking is particularly bad and frankly, when new, downright dangerous. After 2-3K miles they become a bit grippier in the wet, but never do they inspire confidence. In short, if your spending a lot of time hooning it on logging roads, you'll likely be satisfied, but otherwise Id look elsewhere.

Beware of the Load Range, as the LR-F tires have a significantly stiffer carcass than the LR-D version. Much better road grip and manners than the KO2's, including the tread life. Excellent dirt/gravel grip, average grip in the mud.

2025 Sierra 1500 AT4, LT285/60R18. Unfortunately it took 78 pounds of road force to balace one of the tires and 53 for another. I hhave the KO3s on a 2007 FJ Cruiser and live them on that ride. I would avoid the KO3s on most LTs. Over 50 MPH they hop, shake the steering wheel, and bounce the bed. Returning them under Michelin/BFs 30 day satisfaction policy. Switching to the Toyo Open Country AT III.

Amazing as expected, though costly but I have used them on the trails on my land cruiser and interesting how they can carry heavy loads, I don’t regret buying and would recommend in Kenyan Safari always go for the BFGoodrich on your terrain trails.
