DUELER ALL TERRAIN A/T002

After a long research and deliberation, I purchased these tyres at Costco. The runner-ups were Falken Wildpeak AT4W and BFGoodrich Trail Terrain T/A. My old tyre was Pirelli Scorpion A/T Plus.
My interest was good handling on bitumen, yet good grip on unsealed roads. I wanted a quiet and soft ride. These tyres seemed to have combined it best. I like their understated sidewall appearance. The ride was soft and pliable.
The reviewer Ozeman has reviewed these A/T002 tyres (and other in the list). He said the tyres had a low grip in the mid-corner. I might have felt something of the kind, but it would be hard to tell from the other tyres.
I forewent the Falken tyres because I thought they would be worse handling on the bitumen because of the chunkier lugs and a smaller lugs-to-void ratio. I forewent the BF Goodrich tyres because every reviewer gave low marks for its wet grip and for dry handling. The BF Goodrich tyre apparently was very good for driving in snow which was useless to me as I lived in Australia. Conversely, the reviewers knocked the marks off the Bridgestone tyre because it had a low snow grip... which, again, was not an issue for me.
This tyre is made in Europe, India, Thailand, Indonesia. I got the Indonesian-made one. It was manufactured two weeks before I bought them. In theory, they should be the same. In my practice, generally, there are differences. I observed lots of vent spews -- I wish the build quality was better. The side wall of my tyre was smooth. The markings and sicoloration was easily noticeable on the tyre wall, compared with the tyrewall of, say D697 which had a corrugated surface.
I hope the tyres would serve me even longer than the Pirelli tyres did (a set of 5 of the latter lasted me 70k km). By the way, I felt the Pirelli tyres was a good choice for me. They handled well on bitumen (which seems to be a special feature of the Pirelli tyres), they had a good grip straight to the end of their life. And they performed reasonably well off-road -- like any other mild A/T tyre would.
In conclusion; I want to believe that the tyres from the first-tier brand would keep its quality throughout the whole life. I am somewhat disappointed by the appearance of the lower build quality. Also, a bit of disappointment is the plain-looking sidewall (I hoped for something better). I chose to mount the tyre with the white letters inside, because I did not want the hassle of constantly caring for the appearance of the white lettering which would fade eventually, anyway.
I suspect the tyres are still in the "break-in" period, and may get firmer after a few hundred kilometres more.

I've been driving the Dueler on a 2024 Ford Ranger for five months. 255/60 R18 tires on the original rims. TUV registration is no problem, no speedometer adjustment required.
First impressions before the onset of winter showed no noticeable change in driving noise. Yeah! Fuel consumption only increased by 0.3-0.5 L/100 km, depending on driving style. I drive quite defensively, never felt unsafe. Always felt like I had reserves. Tires provide good footfeel. Only had a few snowy days, but good grip even on snow. Didn't drive on ice. Highly recommend! I'll stick with the Dueler, don't want to change.

Dry and wet grip both very good, inspires safe and confident driving on slippery muddy wet roads. I was impressed by their performance in recent snow. Perform well in mild off road conditions. As all terrain tyres go these are comfortable and not too loud, no droning at any speed.
I have driven around 15k miles and the tread has worn evenly, although I have rotated them every 5k, there is still 7mm+ tread (started at 10mm). Outer shoulders slightly more worn but that is more down to my driving. I would definitely consider buying these again.

Awesome tyres. I studies the various tyres for my Subaru Forester eBoxer (2024), because of where I live, I need good AT performance, yet also good road performance and as winters get cold here in rural/inland Spain, also good winter and snow performance. And after thr Dana the Valencia area experienced, the track I have to drive daily (or twice a day) had become even more challenging. But these tyres seem to have it all and perform outstanding. I also looked at the energy labelling of these tyres. There are very few AT tyres that have a C rating. On the tarmac, these tyres are virtually as quiet as the original Bridgestone Dueller HP Sport, that the car came with. So I am super pleased!

Driven 2000+km with them fitted on low mileage small 4x4 with upgraded suspension & they are close to being the worst Tyres/Tires I have ever owned. And no matter what they say, the sidewalls on these are too soft and the tread footprint is too small and therefore it feels feels like you chassis is floating on jelly. Because of this you have to run them at between 40lb and 45lb ( cold) just to be able to get a stable responsive ride, but then (of course) you get an extremely rough ride. They are very quiet on new bitumen roads in the cities but buzz loudly on the older bitumen, and on gravel you have to yell to communicate with passengers they are so loud. They grip well in the wet & dry on straight and slight bends but under-steer on sharper bends, especially in the wet. I had a set of cheap Monsta Terrain Grippers before these and yes, they where noisy but at least they felt stable and where better in the wet. They had a much wider footprint on the road and the handling was so much better than these Duelers.
