Continental ExtremeContact Sport 02

<p>I'll keep this one short. It wears exceptionally well, even with track use. It's one of the best all around summer tires you can buy. I genuinely think it's the best value in the category. With how well they wear, you'll replace them nearly half as many times as the competitors</p><p>For track days and spirited driving, I find the sidewalls don't hold up as well in tighter corners. There's too much rollover for my liking, which takes away some confidence. On faster, longer sweepers, they're incredibly predictable and enjoyable to drive.</p><p>I also never found them particularly comfortable on the road, so if ride quality is a priority, that's worth keeping in mind.</p>

<p>i have a pretty normal daily car (fiat Bravo 1.4t) but it has a pretty decent chassis to have fun with. I bought the car used with brand new pirelli p7's wich i thouth they were decent, but a bit harsh and noisy for a touring tyre. I started looking for a more sporty UHP tire withouth breaking the bank with something like a PS4s (here in argentina they cost like 400usd each for a 17"wheel) i found the extreme contact sport 02 at a really good price (150usd each) so i pulled the trigger.
I can not happier with my purchease. Previosuly owned cars (golf gti, seat leon, etc) with michelin PS4 and dunlop sport maxx 060+ and some other premium touring tyres like primacy 4's and nexen su4.
It makes no sense to compare the conti's to the touring tyres since they're in another different league in terms of performance, but surpisingly about the same in confort and noise.
Comparing them to the other performance tyres i used, overall they're much better. It feels much sportier than the michelins (ps4 where too soft on the sidewall, the car rolled a lot), they offer a bit more lateral grip, and they feel a bit better on the wet. Regarding the Dunlops, the contis feel a bit softer on the sidewall, it's a bit less darty and lacks as much on center feel as the dunlop. But ultimate grip is better, braking feels stronger and it's more predicteable on the limit, i can clearly feel when im close to it on the conti's but in the dunlops the transition between grip and slide it was way more abrupt. I dont really drive fast on wet so i cannot judge ultimate grip, but aquaplaning feels about the same. The conti's have a more refined ride quality and they're quieter than both mentioned, specially the michelins.
Important note, the contis at least where i am from (Argentina) are made in Brasil, but i dont really think that makes a difference.
Overall, the best UHP tire i tested so far.</p>

<p>I ran these on a mk6 golf in autocross and daily driving. I didn't keep track of miles, but they wore well for daily driving and low speed autocross. The majority of the wear came from 4 track days on a rough surface track. Tires had good grip, let you push the limit, and were forgiving when you went past. The side walls were fairly soft and it took a fair bit of pressure to keep them from rolling over on the higher load corners. I would buy another set.</p>

Outstanding wear. Used them on track a few times. They're a little bit soft on the front axle but otherwise an amazing fast road tire

My first impressions so far. Good grip with surprisingly dialed in initial steering response. As with all street tires, when turning aggressively, you can feel the tire “load up,” meaning it does become a bit vague in steering feedback at that point. It’s a fairly compliant tire that is very easy to drive quickly on, which is probably my favourite part. I have not used it in the rain or on track yet, so I'll update with a mid life review then.
