EFFICIENTGRIP

These came as original fitted tyres, and I was pleased to see they appeared to have some side protection for the alloys.
It still wasn’t quite enough though and the alloys have suffered a couple of dings.
I soon learned that they would lose grip and spin easily even on dry roads and not allow the car to put down the power.
Wet driving really reigned in any thoughts of enthusiasm because, safe grip quickly slipped away.
They did wear evenly though which was pleasing to see, but a bulge in one of the rears spelled a complete set of four when the fronts needed changing. Pity.

I generally liked these tyres. No complaints about grip or handling in wet or dry conditions. However I have just replaced them with a different make of tyre due to the number of punctures I’ve suffered in the last few months. I know our roads aren’t great but the EfficientGrips seem to be particularly susceptible, especially in the sidewalls. The latest puncture, which rendered a front type scrap, was caused by a thorn which frankly should not have been able to penetrate a tyre! When removed I could easily snap the thorn by hand. I could have again bought a new EfficientGrip but decided against (three of my tyres had 4.5mm tread left) and have swapped to a different make.

A good tyre. Quiet, fuel efficient and good mileage. Downside is they seem a little delicate, likely from soft sidewalls. In 3 full sets of 4 I've had to replace at least 2 tyres from punctures near the sidewall. 1 was clipping a tree root on a country lane which I feel most tyres would've shrugged off. I'd buy again though. Nice quiet smooth tyre that's very secure feeling in the wet.

I fitted these to my Honda Civic and at first they were wonderful, but they wear BADLY. About a year of use, very little long distance driving, and they've had it. Full disclosure - Cornwall's roads SUCK so that is definitely a big part of the issue but I have never had tyres wear so badly. Part of the tread is peeling from the tyre body, side wall cracking after a moderate bump with a kerb, but honestly these things SUCK. I'm not a slow driver but not a hoonigan either and compared to the rear tyres you'd swear I'd been burning them out. Absolute crap, having to replace all four because I don't trust them. Avoid.

Sorry I can't give a full review but I've just changed my front from Michelin Energy Saver (down to 3mm) to the Goodyear Efficient Grip & they seemed to have transformed the drive. The Michelin seemed a soft rubber compound & so far I'm impressed with a maiden drive to the local airport & back. Well done Goodyear (fingers crossed) P.s equally great on fuel as the Michelin Energy tyres were ;-)
