ROADTEC Z8 INTERACT

Purchased to replace an old set of Dunlop Roadsmart tyres on a VFR800 V Tec. Used mainly for a daily commute and a mix of roads including motorway. I went for the O rated tyre on the rear for extra life as the bike is quite heavy. In short, I can't fault them. I've used them in all weathers including zero degree temperatures. They are quick to warm up and give all the grip, comfort and feedback you will ever need. I will definitely be buying the same again.

Good grip in all weathers, however the set of tyres only lasted 8,000kms, approx half of my riding is with a pillion. 235kg bike (2006 MotoGuzzi V1100 Breva), and 170kg of rider and pillion. All sorts of NZ sealed roads, and I am not an aggressive rider by any means. I would buy again because of the value for $, as I got similar kms out of Michelin PR5’s and they are much more expensive. My riding style does not warrant the extra cost of the Michelin PR5’s or PR6’s.

Ive run 3 sets of the z8s an been very happy with longevity for a daily commute (all weather) 60+ ks a day an also weekend fun. Easily getting 15000ks from rear tyre on my 1050se Tiger. Not as sticky at Perelli Angel gts but far longer wearing only got just over 5000ks on gts. Onky gripe i have is flat zpot an thats also drooping tyre pressure abit all still have flat spit start around 10000k.

I live in Singapore, a country with a tropical climate and high humidity, and lots of torrential rains. It is a very small island-like country that mostly communes about 30km at a stretch and rarely above 40km in one go. My bike only weighs about 200+kg. Climate usually above 30-degree Celcius all year round. My average speed in the expressways usually around 80km/h to 100km/h.
During dry conditions, this tyre feels just normal, nothing extraordinary. Feel a bit slippery, to be honest.
However, once the rain starts pouring, the traction totally drops to zero, performance in wet is worse when compared to Michelin Pilot Power 2CT. The tyre feels so slippery, and traction is so bad that to me it is unacceptable.
In my opinion, I would rather use Road 5 to be the better one-tyre-do-all dry/wet as my choice of tyre.
I would not recommend this tyre at all for use in Singapore. It is not a dangerous tyre to use.
