Lets start with the good bits about the tyre -
1) The tyre's tread pattern is really good at dispersing surface water in wet conditions meaning the tyre can easily maintain contact with the road and provide a decent amount of traction in wet weather
2) The tyre is cheap, which is good for obvious reasons
3) Because of the good depth on the tyre's tread, the tyre actually performs relatively well off-road. I've taken my scooter places it never should go (mud, deep water, sand, even snow) and the tyre never let me down off road. Obviously these are not enduro tyres or anything special but for the odd bit of rough terrain, they're fine
Now I'll move on to the bad bits -
1) The tyre does not look particularly aesthetically pleasing. This shouldn't bother me but it does. It simply just does not look as good as a Michelin Pilot Street or similar
2) The tyre doesn't warm up quite as well as I'd like it to, this is due to the deep tread depth. Because the tyre doesn't get very warm I've found my bike becoming squirmy when getting it right over in the corners. It just doesn't feel particularly confidence inspiring in the tight corners
3) I have found the tyre to wear quite quickly in my experience. I will concede that I am not the kindest person in the world to tyres (I do the occasional burnout and skid) but still, I owned two of these tyres (rear) and both had squared off and worn below legal requirements in about 3000 miles. (About 2 months, I do a lot of miles)
4) They say that this tyre is puncture resistant but I can tell you that is a lie. My first tyre was punctured badly at about 2900 miles, forcing a replacement, and I'm about 3000 miles into this one and it has sustained a minor puncture so will be getting that replaced this week.
To summarise -
This tyre is a great cheap tyre for a scooter to run around the city on (hence the name City Pro). It'll perform well enough in wet and dry weather provided you don't push it too hard.
However, it's just not the tyre for me. I do lots of miles (possibly too many) around rural areas, with twisty tight corners and some roads that are in dire condition, and the occasional city run and dual carriageway use.
I will not be buying this tyre again, I will be switching to something a little more hard wearing than the city pro such as the Pilot Street.
Though maybe I'm being a little harsh, I used this tyre way out of its comfort zone which is perhaps why it let me down, as I said, it's great in the city, just maybe not the Devon roads that I subjected it to.
