HAKKAPELIITTA 10

Bought these for northeast winter and 2025/26 was a bear (2023 CX-5). I travel over High Point mountain NJ up and down and Wurtsboro mountain NY up in morn down at end of day daily over 40 miles one way (look them up, not fun). NJ does a great job clearing the roads NY O boy not so much. These were bullet proof unplowed NY roads no problem up the mountains and down I drank my coffee calmly. Held the track on one lane each way country road unplowed while crazy trailer driver flying in from the other way (had me checking my life ins. in my head) but no problem the Hakka's and CX-5 just did their thing despite his stupidity. Never a slip never a slit slide never a wheel spin. My buddies and I refer to them as the beasts, loud in the dry yea couples miles less MPH (2) yup , who cares!
Bought a set of sharp alloy rims for them to boot no tire changes, bad for your tires.My one friend going to take them for 400 USD (a gift after one season) and I am going for the Hakka 01 with new retractable stud tech, we shall see........yes I am a rubber head I have tire problem!

Just bought the Hakkas after needing to replace the Michelin X-ice snow 4 that I been using since 2021. Did my first 100 miles and there is my first impression:
1. Grip on dry and wet asphalt is much worse than with Michelin, but still much better than Sailun or other cheap winter tires.
2. Nokian Hakka 10 has noticeable spike noise while driving and breaking , Michelin x-ice snow 4 you can hear spikes only when breaking.
3. In corners and b road twist you can feel that car is riding on metal more, and that means the tyre has less grip and car feel almost wobbly. Definitely the Michelin did the better job for road handling, according and breaking on dry and wet road.
Haven’t had a chance to drive on ice and snow yet ( spring hit early) but will update the review after winter is back again.

I bought these tires in early October 2025.
Since then, temperatures in the Laurentians region (St-Jerome) have gone through all ranges of good weather to the most extreme weather.
On dry roads and where to wet, nothing to complain about.
\r\nHowever, during snowstorms or ice storms I did not observe the much-touted and praised performance.
Not worth the price paid ($1600.00 CAD)
These are definitely the last set of Hakkapelica10 tires I'll ever get.

Tire performed great for about 20k miles in the Laurel Highlands. After that, still plenty of tread but suddenly handling on snow and Ice was BAD. If you can afford a tire that only goes 20k miles, then these are for you. After 20k, get rid of them or you will be slipping around and having handling issues on snow and Ice,

TLDR: perfomance decline after just 2 seasons!
Driving in Finland, I bought a set of these based on the stellar reviews. For 2 seasons it was great. Especially in the snow and on white ice. Black ice performance was ok, but not great. Average in the dry and wet (to be expected).
During the 3rd season the performance declined significantly. I got stuck in downtown Helsinki on a snowy icy patch of tarmac while parking, other cars(regular 2wd) left the same spot even on studless tires without issues. Even the slightest icing / slush on the roads were too much. I lost confidence in the tire, I reported it to Nokian and they took the tires for inspection after the 3rd season. Without doing any tests they sent it back and said it was all ok. Never buying a Nokian again, it seems the lifetime of these tires is 2 seasons, even when there is plenty of tread remaining.
