A new summer tire with a focus on comfort is coming to the market, the Pirelli Cinturato C3! To find out how good this new tire really is, we tested it against some of its key competitors from Michelin and Continental. We also added some new tires that we haven't tested before.

Dry conditions:
The dry handling test assessed steering precision and predictability, not just lap times. The Firestone was predictable, but lost rear-axle grip at higher speeds. The Vredestein was bouncy and imprecise, although it had good grip. The Falken felt sporty and stable.
Of the top three (Conti, Michelin, Pirelli), Conti had the quickest steering, but felt a bit elastic. Michelin and Pirelli were stable and had excellent grip. Pirelli won because it had a better lap time.
Choosing from the top three, which consisted of Conti, Michelin and Pirelli, was quite difficult. The Conti had the quickest steering, but felt a bit elastic at this size, while both Michelin and Pirelli felt very stable, balanced, mature and had excellent grip.
Subjectively, it was very difficult to choose a favorite between Michelin and Pirelli, but since Pirelli was faster per lap, it won.
The Pirelli Cinturato C3 needed only 34.13 meters to stop from 100 km/h, while the Goodtrip GR 66 needed almost 3 meters more, namely 37.09 meters.
Wet conditions:
Wet testing revealed significant differences between the tires. The Goodtrip showed poor grip and is not recommended for wet conditions. The Michelin Primacy 4+ feels safe, but its age is showing in reduced grip. The five best tires – Firestone, Continental, Pirelli, Vredestein and Falken – achieved very similar results, with differences of less than 3%. The Firestone was easy to handle and stable, the Continental had high grip but unbalanced balance. The Pirelli excelled with excellent handling and good balance. The Vredestein had high grip but was slower to respond, and the Falken achieved the fastest time with high grip and good resistance to deep water.
A very balanced handling test, so we'll see if braking can make a bigger difference!
The Continental PremiumContact 7 demonstrated its wet-road capabilities by stopping in just 24.61 meters from 80 km/h. The Goodtrip GR 66 needed 9.4 meters more to stop, for a total of 34 meters – a significant safety difference between the best and the worst.
The Continental PremiumContact 7 maintained grip up to 98.1 km/h before aquaplaning occurred, while the Goodtrip GR 66 lost control at 88.2 km/h.
The Pirelli Cinturato C3 achieved the highest cornering aquaplaning grip at 2.6 m/s², while the Falken managed just 2.27 m/s². Unlike other wet tests, the Goodtrip wasn't the worst here.
Comfort:
The Michelin Primacy 4+ led the comfort rating with a perfect score of 10/10. The Goodtrip GR 66 scored the lowest at 7/10, feeling a bit harsh on all bumps. The Vredestein Ultrac was the quietest tire tested at 70.9 dB, while the Continental PremiumContact 7 was the noisiest at 73.2 dB.
