AZENIS RS820

I previously drove on the Good Year Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5.
The tyres are equally good.
The Falken is new now, so it might have more grip than the GY, but its handling is just as good, if not better than the GY.
Plus, the Falken is cheaper.
I'll continue to use this tyre in the future.

I got these and the 295/35/19 size for my F10 M5.
I was curious to see how £700 for a full set of tyres compares the Michelin Pilot Sport 4s and Continental Sport Contact 7 which are double the price for a full set.
The Michelins were good but the sidewall is ugly, as is the rim protector design. They also lacked turn in feel.
The continentals were epic in almost every way, especially in the wet.
Comparatively I’d say the RS820 is only 10% behind the Michelins and maybe 15-20% behind the Continentals when you’re really pushing it.
I’m well aware of my limits and don’t track my car so if these Falken RS820’s wear sensibly, I’ll fit another set.
They behave predictably and don’t suddenly lose traction, they are also reasonably responsive in the cold spring mornings we are having.
They also have a nice minimalist side wall design, although I’m not a fan of the font used for the tyre size.
One thing to note is that the RS820 did take more weights to balance than the other two brands I’ve mentioned. But there isn’t any vibration at autobahn speeds.

These Falken Azensis 820s have transformed my Mercedes SL (r231) from a cruiser to a sports car. I changed from Dunlop Sport maxx 2 and the Falkens give a much more focussed drive. They cope well with potholes. The Kevlar band gives me confidence that they are more resistant to punctures than the Dunlops were. The comfort is great despite it being a more sporty ride. Braking is great too. There is a slight increase in road noise Vs the Dunlop but not enough to be annoying. I'm only surprised there aren't more reviews of this great tyre.

Great tires for Mazda RX-8. Very predictable, with good grip both on dry and wet. They work great both for dynamic driving on mountain roads and occasional track days.
