ECOCONTROL HP

Got these tyres on a used car mostly for driving around town, they were 5 years old with no visible wear. On dry roads it had okayish grip .Absolutely horrible in wet, on anything but asphalt road, you can expect ABS triggering when braking little bit harder or understeer when turning into a harder corner. Had them on the car for the few months in late summer, early autumn. Got rid of them happily in favour of winter tyres (Hankook winter i*cept RS2) which felt much better. Maybe on a heavier car wet grip could be little bit better, but it would probably still be quite bad.

I've driven these tyres for seven full summer seasons and a bit over 30.000 miles.
Positives: 1. Cheap to buy (back in 2018) - 160 euros for all four tyres, 2. They do last in terms of tread depth...still over 6 mm after all those miles, 3. They were easy going - meaning rolling resistance was low, 4. When new (first two or three seasons) excellent in wet breaking, very hard to activate ABS, 5. No special issues whatsoever....just bring the miles on.
Neither positive nor negative: 1. I've used Goodyear GT3 tyres before on the same vehicle and Fuldas were slightly noisier, but nothing that would be an issue. 2. Comfort wise they were OK, but nothing special.
Negatives: 1. On dry and cold surface braking was the issue even with the new tyres. It remained the same until the end. You just had to be careful. 2. Only after 10.000 kms they felt nicely secure in the rain...there were no issues before that, just the feeling in the steering and complete car was not the best in terms of being secure and confident. 3. After fifth season front tires developed a dry rot on the inner side walls which is hard to notice unless you switch your tires/wheels yourself.
Would I buy Fulda again? Yes and no. I was and still am happy with performance to price ratio, however they are not the best tyres ever. Despite some flows I'm not disappointed. So it is up to the specific situation - do you need better tyres or have money for them. Fuldas seem to be a decent choice for the money they cost.

Fulda EcoControl HP is definitely a comfortable tire but it is not aimed to satisfy drivers who like sport driving. It is very good in the dry, but not so good in the wet. I believe that handling is a bit more difficult than other sport tires, however in terms of family travel is a very good choice. It is a little slow in immediate braking.
I think that is a very good choice in general for a mid range tire, but due to its price and its European Energy qualification, it could be even better.

It's a very good mid budget solution. Handling, road feedback and grip on dry and wet road are just fine and by no means dangerous. I'm not satisfied with the wear.

I had the plain EcoContact version (not HP) on my previous car and they were the best tyres I had used, so got the HP version for the first change of tyres my current car when the ones it had needed replacement thinking they would be even better, but was disappointed.
They felt hard and not as comfortable and with less grip and handling than the old EcoContacts. They also wore down faster than the old version and became quite shiny and with less grip in the process. OK on the flat and straight in the dry, but once the tread pattern had lost its details, was not as confidence inspiring in the wet even in a straight line. .
