Technical information
Focus: Supersport
Tyres for powerful cars, where nothing is compromised — Michelin PILOT SPORT 4 S is one of them. Compound, construction and tread pattern are all subordinated to grip and stability. Tread life and comfort rank well below them, which is worth knowing before you buy.

What owners say

comparative with continental, the rubber is more soft, the grip fantastic, but it seems if you heat them long enough will lose a little bit of grip. (with continental i didn't have that feeling, even the tires were very old) also continental the rubber is a little more hard, so better for potholes.
michelin on wet, even with medium water filled road keep the feeling and handling very good.

Great tires, but i never understood why people associate these with ultra high performance tires. I use these on my daily and find them to be a great allrounder. Comfort is good, grip is good in all conditions, sporty when it needs to be.
Biggest downside is the roadnoise i get at certain speeds. It occured quite early, maybe halfway the wear. When paying for the absolute best, that's not what you expect.

Good tyre. Probably not as good as Continental Sport Contact 7.
Better wear than Sport Contact 7: more miles out of them and better wear on track days

Very good tires, don't wear fast and they are actually more comfortable than the previous Michelin Ps2 I used to run on my car. Excellent grip as always with Michelin.

My set is now 7 years old. I know I probably should have changed them, but they still have plenty of treads left after roughly 20k miles. Yes, I don't drive the car often. I have since added a set for the rear axle (275/30/19), and compared to the old pilot super sport, I can positively say that the PS4S is more comfortable. However, my car is lowered, and the rear tyres rub against the fender when I go over uneven road. Never had this issue with the PSS, so something to keep in mind for those with lowered cars. I dont need to talk about the performance. I think others have covered it, but that added comfort does come at a cost. The PSS felt a bit sharper, but that doesnt mean the PS4S is much worse. The PS4S is a lot more durable than the PSS. I had severe dry rots after 6 years with the PSS, which made me worry about tread separation. The PS4S still looks pristine after 7 years and 20k miles. The PS4S is definitely the best tyre I've ever had so far. Well worth the money.
